I use either 0.125% Marcaine with 200 mcg of fentanyl in a 60cc syringe per Baxter Pump, usually at 10-12 cc per hour after a 10-15 cc loading dose. I have also used 0.1% Ropivacane with the same dose of fentanyl at the same rate. I think Marcaine gives a little denser block and works better for me. I don't use "walking" epidurals. If they want to walk, they can walk to the jacuzzi. Our anesthesiologists use similar dosing.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
