maybe not), usually from the rural areas, have a ton of family just sitting there the entire labor. While it is sad that the family doesn't have the sense to get up, it is sadder that the patient doesn't tell them to leave.

When I go in to examine her, they just sit there, as opposed to the the more normal situation, in which the family members are scurrying to leave (maybe except the patient's mother)when I walk in.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
