need a quick response from an MD about informed consent

For the MDs on the list, this might not be the best place for this question
but my husband needs a fast response for an attorney on a med mal(gen surgery
case) case review he's working at-the atty wants a general consensus on what
most prudent doctors do. It involves a patient who was apparently not told
verbally or in a paper consent, by the doctor or the hospital ,that the hospital
has interns and residents who might be participating in their care. Please let
me know what you do in your practices, and thanaks so much for your responses
in advance!
