Not really in "childbirth", but as a result of childbirth. In the past, women were confined to bed following a delivery........

Paula Modersohn-Becker. Artist, wife of painter Otto Modersohn, member of Worpswede artists' colony. In 1907 at the age of 31 she gave birth to a daughter. Three weeks later, at the end of her period of 'confinement' she arose from her bed for the first time, suffered an embolism and subsequent heart attack and died.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
