Terrence: You are correct once again! Misoprostol is not contraindicated in patients with asthma; if anything, it may make it better. Secondly, I have seen no scientific evidence [or even non-scientific] to indicate that misoprostol causes thrombocytopenia. Thirdly, the doses of misoprostol can reach 800 to 1000 mcg for post-partum hemorrhage. Uterine rupture at this point is of no concern with these doses. I see things never change for some listers in ObGyn Net. Statements without prior thinking or knowledge continue to be made.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
