Nigerian Scam emailsFrom: Lea Harth, Managing Editor - OBGYN.net (LEA.HARTH@medispecialty.com)Tue Jul 15 13:16:18 2003
FYI - for US and Canadian citizens: You can forward the emails you get to 419.fcd@usss.treas.gov Just change the subject line to NO LOSS and if you can, incuded the full headers. I also send a report to Yahoo for the one's that originate at the various Yahoo accounts and they do shut down the accounts and file their own report to the Task Force. I also file a report with Spamcop so the ISPs can shut down the email accounts. http://www.spamcop.net/ If you receive letters in the mail you can forward them to: United States Secret Service, Financial Crimes Division, 419 Task Force, 950 H Street, Washington, DC, 20001-4518, USA. But be sure to mark your documents "No Financial Loss - For Your Database. For those in South Africa: Please contact Captain SC Schambriel of Commercial Crime, Head Office, at telephone number (012) 393 1203 or fax the information to him at (012) 393 1202. For those in the UK: http://www.met.police.uk/fraudalert More information is available here if you're curious: http://home.rica.net/alphae/419coal/ You'd be surprised at how many people think they can outsmart these guys and play along with the emails only to find they are giving away enough information to be relieved of a substantial amount of their own money. These are not just small time crooks or people falling for "get rich quick" schemes or "work at home" scams. These are professional criminals and quite computer literate. They know how to decipher the information your emails tell them about you and they know how to use that information against you.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
