I am from the 'old school' with regard to closure. I know all the literature says single layer is OK and that the bladder flap need not be closed, nor the anterior parietal peritoneum. However, I have never had any problems with it and no excessive adhesions on return visits to the site. I just think that if I take it apart in layers, I should put it back the same way. My $.02,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
