I thought about doing that, too, Joanne. About 8 years ago I went as far as to get a license in an adjoining state. It was a major big deal to get the license and I just a few weeks ago I gave it up as I thought it was crazy to continue paying out $300 year after year and not be using it. The big obstacles, though, when I looked a few years ago, were the professional liability insurance and the biggest was that most, if not all, practices and hospital wanting ob/gyns for locums, wanted them for providing *obstetrical* coverage and services. Not unreasonable, but it was something I was unwilling to do having stopped OB a few years before.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
