Hi, I removed an ovary the size of a soccer ball last week from a 17 year old school girl which has come back as Endodermail Sinus tumor (Yolc Sac), with invasion of the capsule and of vessels. Omentum was free, no lymphnodes palpated and the cytology hasn't come back yet. She will go down to the national oncologist in 10 days time when the wound is well healed for chemotherapy. I reckon that would be Stage Ia, since the definition of Ic says "tumor on the outer surface"? Now the question I have is wether I should eventually take out the uterus and the remaining ovary? What if the cytology comes back positive, ie Ic? And, I took out one the size of a basket ball yesterday, I'll let you know about the histology soon :-)-O greetings, el -- Dr. Eberhard W. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
