Re: RhogamFrom: Griffiths Malcolm (Malcolm.Griffiths@ldh-tr.anglox.nhs.uk)Fri May 9 12:04:46 2003
I think your approach is scientifically correct. There is no expression of Rhesus antigen at very early gestations. However guideline in UK advises anti-D if miscarriage involves surgical evacuation. -----Original Message----- From: Richard Chudacoff, MD [mailto:rchudacoff@mylinuxisp.com] Sent: 09 May 2003 17:18 To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Rhogam Patient had an early first trimester spontaneous abortion, then came to see me a week later with bleeding. There seemed to be some retained POC, so I did a D&C on her. The pathologist called and asked why, if she is Rh negative, I did not give her Rhogam, and I told her that the risk of fetal transmission would be too low to require it. Am I way off base?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
