Re: Patient legal questionFrom: Dr. John Provatopoulos B.Sc. M.D.C.M. F.R.S.C. (johnprov@sympatico.ca)Tue May 6 19:35:47 2003
If she is lucky to have a family doc, primary care doc or whatever there called in your neck of the woods send them a dated letter with your recommendations for future reference when she shows up with bulging parametrium. I never discharge patients its an ethical thing, I am very happy when some patients choose to go elsewhere for care. It sounds like she has chosen to go elsewhere for care, I would say you are are off the hook, and ofcourse document everything.

Take care, John

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
