Re: GEN: New Yorkers Say Rein In Law MadnessFrom: art fougner, md (evsono@pipeline.com)Sun May 4 11:46:27 2003
Joe and Marilyn - even the ABA recognizes that the situation has gotten out of hand as the CATO institute has sited. The current system is clearly in need of radical therapy. In NY of course, since Sheldon Silver, Assembly leader, is a member of the firm of Weitz and Luxemburg, well-known in the field of asbestos litigation, it's easy to foretell the future of Ob in NY State. Currently there are 6 counties without an Obstetrician. If something is not done, with the next premium increase ( due in July), that may well jump to 20 counties. Therefore, this is NOT about income - it's truly about access. art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
