Re: Retention after Pereyra procedureFrom: Gerald P. Rodriguez (geraldpr@cybermesa.com)Fri Feb 28 15:25:56 2003
Assuming that the patient finally voids on the maximal dose of 60 mg. then, yes repeat 4 times daily for a few days. In my experience, this might have to be done for several days. Once spontaneous voiding starts, one can wean the patient off of the drug rather quickly. Remember this is a very short acting drug. Hope this helps. Gerald P. Rodríguez, M.D., FACOG Santa Fe
> ----- Original Message ----- From: Gerald P. Rodriguez Start with 10-20 mg p.o. and repeat in every one hour until voiding occurs or for a total of 50-60mg. Repeat this up to 4 times a day. I'm not sure to have understood well. Does the dose of 50-60 mg has to be repeated 4 times a day? A total of 200-240 mg a day? Mario Colombo, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
