Dear Forum, I am not a physicain , I am a nurse. Still I would like to inspire a discusion about endometriosis. I am well aware there are Endometriosis specialists, who take the disease as serious as it is. But for many endometriosis patients is still a inaceptable hardship to get heard, to get treatment and to be treated with all the care this disease needs to be controlled and to enable women to live , a less painful life. The discusion I would like to bring up here....is the question why is endometriosis not on the international scale for Tumordisease? It does fulfill all aspects of the rights to be there - it is invasive - it formates its own supply of hormons and bloodsupply - it spreads into other areas .... the only aspect it doesn't fullfil is that it nessecary ends in death, when untreated. But I do see women who have to suffer side effects, that would- untreated fulfill this category as well. To be on the Tumorscale would enable to define all aspects of the disease much more acurate and the women would be enabled to be monitored with much more respect and care. And the last point I will be making is that a interantional already existing tool can be used to mesure the real extent of the disease. Thank you very much for enable this discusion. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
