Hoping for some input.   51 yo female  has had no intimate relationships in "many years"  presented today.  Finally found "her soulmate"  and is interested in a sexual relationship.  Initially came in to talk about birth control-patient is perimenopausal and still having fairly regular cycles.  Found out today that "soul Mate"  has been diagnosed with Hep C for 10 years.  Discussed sexuality, etc.  Patient interested in knowing the chances of being infected with vaginal and or oral relations if no protection is used.  Anyone have any stats, info, studies or data regarding this issue. Thanks for your help. Barbara, FNP

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
