Yup. There aren't any carriers in our area that cover the Sahara as a screen, so we bill directly. We charge $35 per scan. I recommend it to anyone over 45 or so.

In fact, the WHI was a gold mine for this - when patients came in to discuss, one of my recommendations was a bone density.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
