Yup. There aren't any carriers in our area that cover the Sahara as a screen, so we bill directly. We charge $35 per scan. I recommend it to anyone over 45 or so. In fact, the WHI was a gold mine for this - when patients came in to discuss, one of my recommendations was a bone density.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
