Re: Cosmetic Laser...Yea or NayFrom: Michael J. Wolpmann, MD (elvisdoc@comcast.net)Sun Feb 16 19:40:27 2003
your point about economic survival may be valid >sooner or later. That is so sad to have to say.>> I agree. Have said nay for many years and continue to. BUT....I have to admit the idea of a cash service performed in the office, untouched by HMO or Medicare BS, does have a significant ring to it. We have to pay our staff + benefits + various and sundry rising costs, and those numbers continue to go up, while our reimbursement continues to fall. We are well trained in laser, after all, easily as well as most, and have a built-in patient base that would use this service. Maybe it's not so sad after all, Garry....? Michael

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
