And the urologists just slash'em open and sew'em up. So what's the fuss?

The major problem medicolegally is recognizing the damage and repairing it. Since bladder damage is a material risk of most GYN surgery, the patient (if she's given proper informed consent) has accepted the risk and if it happens, you're safe on paper. You're mistake would be not recognizing a tear or laceration or not repairing it correctly if you did.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
