About whether or not I would go to court if this happened to me: No, probably not. I would be angry and I would feel a that my body wasn't being respected, but I would not sue. I think you guys are right-- People look to make a quick dollar by claiming emotional damage. Although I think this dr. was a bit immature and made a bad decision, I don't think he deserves to pay for it by spending the next three years of his life giving depositions. An apology and a simple and sincere "I have learned from my mistake and it will NOT happen again" would be suffient for me. -Alexia Bradford 2nd year med student, Cornell

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
