Jay:

Many, many women that I see in their 30s and 40s see me only, once a year, and don't see an interist/FP unless ill. I bet I am like most of us in private practice.

If their HTN responds to maxzide, I treat them. I also treat anemia and hypothyroid.

Dan

I do a fasting lipid panel, CBC and TSH (once between 35 and 50) if they want and if they're not on an HMO, where I can't. I give them instructions, a lab requisition, and many do it, many don't.

If the results aren't normal, or in question, we send them a copy and refer. I don't treat.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
