A patient traveling through our community presented at 38 weeks for a labor evaluation and was found to have fetal demise. She delivered the demise that evening and did not want to see, hold or have anything to do with the baby. The following morning, she changed her mind and requested to see the baby. The nurse called down to Pathology to see if she could retrieve the baby and they told her yes, that it was sitting right here. The nurse went to Pathology and asked for the baby and was directed to the blanket wrapped bundle on the table. She took the baby back to Labor, but decided to go into the utility room to make sure the baby was presentable for the parents. As she unwrapped the bundle, she discovered an adult foot, rather than a baby.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
