My understanding is that there are no trials looking at the question of cardiovascular disease in women who are on longterm depo-provera !

I think in time it will be shown that for women in thier forties or fifties will have some added risk from depo-provera, it only makes sense that the results will mirror those of the WHI trial. The risk will be small and has not been shown yet because it is small and requires long term followup.
