Lea's ShieldFrom: ainsron@sbcglobal.netMon Jul 29 17:52:47 2002
Anybody using this method or have any experience with it? Just read about it in the June Contraception Report, http://www.adobe.com/acrobat/readstep.html "The LeaŽ Contraceptive provides a barrier or shield over the cervix and is held in place by the muscles of the vaginal wall; this positioning prevents sperm from reaching the uterus and in doing so, prevents pregnancy. The barrier allows the one-way flow of fluid from the cervix to the vagina but not vice-versa. The cup-shaped volume bowl completely surrounds the cervix without resting on it, thereby removing the need for precise cervical positioning. One size fits all female forms."

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
