Conjugated estrogens

Most observers seem to assume that the nature of the progestin component in combined HRT is an issue. This might be so but the problem is that no major studies, like the one with Pempro, with other progestins are available. And studies with surrogate endpoints are not worth much now. Likewise, studies are lacking on other estrogens. One cannot take for granted that it wouldn't make a difference. Activella might be less risky - or more risky, we just don't know. But _if_ Activella would make a difference it could, theoretically, be the estradiol instead of "horse urine" that made it.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
