Morning headline in our local newspaper: "Study: Hormone therapy not safe." It is a report of sorts re bad news to be published in JAMA 17 July of the Women's Health Initiative which was partially suspended yesterday. Per 10K women, there were 18 more cases of thromboembolic disease, 8 more CVAs, 7 more MIs, and 8 more cases of breast cancer. On the plus side there was a reduction in colorectal cancer and in hip fractures.

I suspect the phones are going to be busy today.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
