I have noticed that  it is a normal rule in muslim women
from muslim countries as Marocco,Pakistan ,Saudi Arabia ecc. probably for hygienical (religious )precautions as avoiding alchool and pork to prevent bacterial infection  and physical disturbances in warm
climate countries
