We had a woman in our practice a few years ago who had idiopathic osteoporosis of pregnancy (diagnosed with x-ray) affecting her hip. It was very bad at ~ 28 weeks and she was in a wheelchair. It resolved by 38 weeks and she had an uneventful labor and birth.

(Jay, did she get any treatment from the osteo guys? I don't remember any. Maybe steroids. )

Zebra.

There are some very good (and expensive) belly bras and back supports designed for pregnancy. I believe that a few insurance companies will pay for them. Some of my women hate to take them off for the prenatal visit because they help so much.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
