I thought atb was being used as an abbreviation for "ATOSIBAN" (trade name Tractocile) .This is an anti oxytocic agent which can be used to delay delivery upto 7 days. My excitement subsided when I realized it was being used for ANTIBIOTIC. However atosiban should not be used when the gest age is <24 or >33 weeks, premature rupture of membranes .30 weekas, IUGR and abnormal Foetal heart rate or when continuation of pregnancy is contraindicated such as uncontrollable preeclampsia or abruption.

I am sure you all knew this. Didn't you?? Naseem Ahmad FRCOG

I had made some suggestions some time ago but no one bothered. Try to adopt some policy of membership which could be granted to applicants with documented credentials like we have in the rcog forum. Naseem Ahmad FRCOG

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
