My personal concern is the possible overuse of pit and finding induction and aug. rates to be in the 90% range at many hospitals. I find this part and parcel of a spiraling AMOL philosophy. I was heartened to see this boards reply to the induction mania and possible solutions. I am seeking a way to meld our differing philosophies together for the good of the medical profession and the women they serve. There is a disparity between the OB's and supposedly "cruncy granola" cult and while there will always be differing philosophies, I would like to bridge the gap without resorting to armed truces. I am convinced the spectre of the next litigant is foremost in your minds at times and most of us find that reprehensible. It prevents a relationship from developing between the mother and the caregiver that would actually lessen the chances of retribution. At this point in time in the US, catching babies is probably more of a ministry than a profession. I find that very sad.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
