Actually, the most important part of AMOL protocol is the one that probably gets done the least in this country(US)---continuous professional support in labor. A review in BMJ 6 Aug 1994 concluded it was the only component of AMOL that had been shown to have a positive effect on operative delivery rates in clinical studies. Also the safest but least-utilized component.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
