Re: PrematurityFrom: Len2976@aol.comSun Mar 31 11:58:05 2002
The perinatal center that we transfer our patients in PTL to are very reluctant to accept patients less than 26 weeks. They insist we first have a detailed discussion with the parents about the long term outcomes. Sometimes even after this when the parents still want "everything done" they don't want to take those they anticipate will deliver a VLBW infant. It puts us all (including the parents) in a difficult position when there is little time to make these decisions as the center is about 1 1/2 hrs. away. Lenora McCall, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
