I would be extremely concerned, someone with suicidal ideation, and especially one with a plan IS likely to attempt suicide. I'm not sure legal ramifications...isn't there something about being able to breach confidentiality if the person is a danger to themselves/someone else? I would tend to follow your gut on this one...and document the crap out of everything.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
