Re: Cervical ripening with SROMFrom: Steve & Eryl Raymond (eryl@intekom.co.za)Thu Mar 14 03:40:36 2002
When membranes are ruptured, i.v. Oxytocin works perfectly well, and doesn't have any chance of dissolving in the liquor and running out of the vagina. Besides that it is much cheaper than Cervidil or Prepidil, and can be stopped immediately if hyperstimulation should occur. Can't really see any point in considering putting any of the prostaglandins in the vagina where there is liquor leaking. stray Efrain Ramirez wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
