Hello,

as shown by my signature I am an Italian M.D. mainly generalist but also allowed to carry out Psychotherapy. Thus I am caring grown-up persons who suffered severe sexual ABUSES (till to be experimental human unwilling guinea pigs: as Belgian ones) during their childhood and teen ages.

At present one of them is undergoing a "molar pregnancy" (I hope only "molar" not malignant "choriocarcinoma": tomorrow we shall have the laboratory results).

I appreciated very much the article by: D. Ashley Hill, M.D. Associate Director Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Florida Hospital Family Practice Residency Orlando, Florida so precise and at the same time so easy to read to be conveniently understandable also for the ill person and her family.

Therefore I am writing this mail with a PRECISE aim: my patient suffered severe and numerous sexual abuses and perhaps other criminal misdeeds during her early years: may I ask if your statistics of the medical history of patients suffering for one or repeated "hydatiform mole" present a significant rate between surviving abused people? Or better: do even exist such statistical data? And I add another - medical only, no more "psychological - ask: in Italy the gynecologists don't search the chromosomal situation of the trophoblastic-mole cells, but on the contrary I am urging the laboratory to do it. Can you explain me scientifically what real clinical meaning have the laboratory's answer, since I am not a specialist? perhaps sometimes there is something related to damaged sperm?

I shall wait the answer on this Forum but I agree personal mails.

My greetings

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
