Re: BRITAIN CONSIDERS BANNING PREGNANT WOMEN'S BLOODFrom: Anna Meenan, MD (annam@uic.edu)Thu Mar 7 14:37:39 2002
Wow, what would that do to the blood supply? This is just a guess, but given the intense fear of invasive procedures (including venipuncture) that many males seem to have, I'm guessing that the pool of blood donors consists of >50% adult women. That's just a guess, of course. I could be wrong. Does anybody know what the gender distribution is at the blood bank?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
