Swollen VaginaFrom: mel brooks (melbrooks60@hotmail.com)Sat Mar 2 21:27:58 2002
Hi, About 1.5 weeks ago the left lip of my vagina started swelling very slowly. It was becoming very painful so I went to a general practioner (gp). He diagnosed the problem as bartholonitis and prescribed antibiotics, Augmentin 625mg. After 6 days the swelling got worse and the pain became unbearable. I was then referred to a gyn whose diagnosis was that a hair follicle had become infected. He has prescribed the following: Zinnat Tablets Bactorban Cream Apo-Cloxacillin Novo-Naprox It's been 3 full days now and the swelling does not appear to be reducing. In fact the lower part of the swelling which reaches close to my anus now feels firm (it was fairly soft earlier) and this is the most painful area of the swelling. I find it almost impossible to sit, walk or lie on my back. I have also been using warm to hot water with antiseptic, bicarbonate of soda, and salt (at different times) on the area but to no avail. Thanks for any advice.
