Re: ACOG Committee Statement on labor epiduralsFrom: art fougner, md (evsono@pipeline.com)Thu Jan 31 16:19:12 2002
in fairness to ACOG - the decisions concerning analgesia in labor entail many considerations - "The choice of technique, agent, and dosage is based on many factors, including patient preference, medical status, and contraindications. Decisions regarding analgesia should be closely coordinated among the obstetrician, the anesthesiologist, the patient, and skilled support personnel" not exactly blanket consumerism. art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
