Our own in house quality assurance testing regarding the Affirm testing indicates a high level of accuracy. Certainly reimbursement is a challenge, but most third party payors are pretty good about paying for the testing. One big advantage over using Affirm vs. wet mount is the ability to pick up diagnosis of mixed infections, that may not be easily seen otherwise. BTW, Tami, I worked with you at Grace Hospital in Detroit when you were a resident :-) (and a darn good one)! Susan Paterson CNM Bay City MI

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
