Re: TAH Length of stayFrom: ainsron@msn.comTue Jan 15 17:42:06 2002
My experience mirrors yours. For some of our older patients, 2 days is too short, but most are able if they have help at home. The real sore point to me is that these changes haven't occurred because of clinical studies that show it is better for the patients. It cost driven by, most companies use the Millman-Robertson criteria for their UR. The LOS is the shortest stay for the "ideal patient." Anything over that has to be justified by a complication, need for IV, etc.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
