We don't pay for it or get paid any more if we do use it. My main motivation is to use an effective medication that has been repeatedly shown to be the best agent to help my patient deliver safely. The fact that Searle has not sought FDA approval for the use of the drug in this fashion is not because it is a harmful or ineffective drug, but rather their concern that any adverse outcome from its use will result in civil litigation. I personally think that they are spineless, but who could blame them. They are used to dealing with the unethical industry of the product liability attorney.. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
