The equation simplified is incidence "multiplied" by consequence. There is a chance that the patient has severe preeclampsia. That must be "multiplied" by the consequence of the next management decision so on and so on until the ultimate outcome is reached. What is an acceptable product is really what is acceptable to the patient.
