high hcg / diagnosis of multiplesFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Jul 22 14:09:26 2001
My wife has had two quantitative HCG blood tests following IVF with ICSI- the first was taken 13 days post day 3 transfer and was 685. The second test was performed 17 days post day 3 transfer and the result was 5 100. Three embryos were transferred. Is it reasonable to suspect that all three embryos have implanted and we are looking at a triplet pregnancy? There is some cramping and she has been examined and told that it is nothing to worry about. The reproductive specialist has told us that he suspects triplets based on those numbers.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
