Sometimes called premie Simpsons. More likely to find Baby Elliots. You might also find them on e-bay. Dan

In residency, many moons ago, we had a pair or two of what we knew as "Baby Simpsons," which were a smaller version of Simpson forceps for premies--32 to 34 weeks. These were not just short handled ones, but the blades were smaller. Sometimes, a 33 or 34 weeker with an epidural needs a lift, but not often.

Our hospital central supply people cannot find anything like this.

Anyone else seen these/have any clue?

Please post or email privately.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
