[OB] Rubella IgM +From: lfolgar@interbook.netFri Jul 20 16:18:14 2001
I have a patient primip 15weeks FUR:03-10-01, In 07-13-01 she have a Rubella test, IgG 234.0 UI/ml (protection >16 UI/ml). IgM +. A cuantification of IgM 1.34 (cutoff =1.20). His doctor recomended abortion. I think that IgG is too high in comparation with the IgM and could be a 3-4 months old infection and recomended a new determination after 15 days. Do you considered that a negative IgM or the same IgG could be enough to considered an infection before gestation?. Do you think she need a fetal blood sample to detecxt IgM?. Any other suggestion?. Thanks. L. Folgar Ob/gyn specialist Melilla County Hospital Spain
