with the steady decrease in medicare funds to university hospitals, the federal govt has slowly been cutting off funding to everyone. this present move may be more dramatic but of relatively less overall impact. as more and more research becomes funded privately, there will come a day when those white lab coats will have more corporate stickers than the NASCAR divers' jump suits.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
