Betty: I think that you are a bit strong in your comments, and I don't mean to "pile on" to others' comments. Like Malcolm, I am aware that you have been a lister for some time. A social induction in a multip with a great cervix, done for mutual convenience after an honest discussion, is a helluva lot different that your above example. If one is going to do social inductions (and I do), one needs to be smart, careful, and have good outcomes. For an experienced obstetrician, it's not that hard to figure this out, and offer social induction only when you think/almost always know that it will fly, and *only* if the patient agrees. FWIW, my social induction for tomorrow called today and cancelled, preferring to wait for labor. No biggie. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
