I recently had a delivery at the big hospital, and the nurse (been there are few years, but I didn't know her well) was impressed at how a doctor (not a midwife) could do a cool delivery. You know, letting the perineum stretch, stopping and starting pushing, delivering from the vagina to the abdomen. All of these tricks were learned via observation and experience, and do not represent rocket science, but (I hope) a combination of good medicine and good patient service. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
