prednisone preconceptionFrom: chris stanley (nd84md@aol.com)Sun Apr 29 19:30:52 2001
have a patient 35 yo and on prednisone 25mg qod for what is essentially a variant of MS. her neurologist wants to wean her over the next year off her meds, but my patient is anxious to get pregnant and is concerned that waiting would put her at higher risk for anomilies than the prednisone. all i can find about prednisone in similar situations is an increase in facial clefts. any experience with this type of med in practice? would the increased risk of triosomy with advancing age be similar the cleft risk? thanks for any help.
