Mississippi Becomes a Mecca for Tort SuitsFrom: Dean Huffman (jth@springnet1.com)Fri Apr 27 05:49:40 2001
Mississippi Becomes a Mecca for Tort Suits The National Law Journal Rural Jefferson County, not far from Vicksburg in the lush farmland of southwest Mississippi, claims only 8,345 people, nearly half of them below the poverty level. But it's ground zero for the largest legal attack on the pharmaceutical industry. Fen-phen, Rezulin, Propulsid -- all are on trial in this tiny county in products liability suits involving tens of thousands of plaintiffs from across the United States. http://www.law.com/cgi-bin/nwlink.cgi?ACG=ZZZL03EFSLC

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
