Garry: I believe that in an intelligent, informed patient without fertility issues who has dysplasia recurrent after a significant procedure such as LEEP, CO2 laser, cold knife conization, and/or multiple colposcopies, the choice is hers as far as definitive treatment with hysterectomy is concerned. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
